Mom’s Maple Syrup Doughnuts

  • 1 cup Wood’s Vermont Maple Syrup                                   

  • 2 eggs

  • 4 tbsps butter, softened

  • 1 ½ cups milk   

  • 4 cups flour

  • ½ tsp. salt

  • 3 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Combine syrup, eggs, butter and milk. Beat with mixer for 2 minutes.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder and nutmeg.

  3. Gradually add dry mix to batter.

  4. Roll out dough on a floured board and flatten to a ¼ inch thickness.  

  5. Cut out with doughnut cutter and deep fry in shortening until golden brown.
