Mom’s Maple Syrup Doughnuts

1 Cup Vermont Maple Syrup                                       Combine:

2 Eggs                                                                                   4 cups Flour

4 Tbsps Butter                                                                     ½ Tsp. Salt

1 ½ Cups Milk                                                                      3 Tsp Baking Powder

**Beat well for 2 minutes                                                ½ Tsp Nutmeg

                                                                                              Add additional flour as needed

Roll out on floured board to ¼ inch thickness.   Cut out and dep fry in Crisco shortening

until golden brown.
