Thinly sliced apples, pared and sliced

To fit an 9 x 9 square baking dish

1 cup of Wood’s Maple Sugar

1/3 cup flour

3/4 teaspoon nutmeg

3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon butter

Pastry for 9-inch One crust pie

Sift together sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.

Mix with apples.  Turn into ungreased pan.  Dot with butter.

Heat oven to 410 degrees.  Prepare pastry and roll into

10-inch square. (I used Pillsbury pie crust -  but usually make my own).  Place crust over

the fruit in the pan.  Cut slits near the center.  Fold edges under just inside edge of pan.

I brushed the top of the crust with egg white.

Bake 50 minutes or until juice begins to bubble through slits

In the crust.  Serve warm and with ice cream.
