Bourbon barrel-aged syrup was how it all started for me. I had been speaking with a friend of mine about wanting to flavor my maple syrup with bourbon and he suggested I get a small barrel from a distillery called Tuthilltown Spirits. I got my first 5-gallon barrel from there and as soon as the syrup was put in I knew it was awesome! The maple picks up just enough bourbon flavor to bring it to a new level of maple goodness!
