Ingredients
- 2 cups milk (or Almond milk)
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch (optional — if you use cornstarch it is vital to stir the liquid continuously as it cooks, to avoid lumps forming)
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
-
5 tablespoons.Wood’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup or syrup of choice
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
- Measure the cocoa powder, cinnamon, and cornstarch into a small pan.
- Pour in the milk and heat on moderate heat, stirring continuously until smooth and steaming.
- Add the chocolate chips. Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook & stir for 2-3 minutes until the liquid is piping hot and has thickened very slightly like the thickness of coconut milk (if using the cornstarch).
- Pour in the Wood’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup and vanilla extract, give one last stir, and pour into the mugs.
- Top with whipped cream.
