Ingredients
-
Thinly sliced apples, pared and sliced. Enough to fit a 9 x 9 square baking dish
-
1 cup of Wood’s Maple Sugar
-
⅓ cup flour
-
¾ teaspoon nutmeg
-
¾ teaspoon cinnamon
-
¼ teaspoon salt
-
1 tablespoon butter
-
Pastry for 9-inch one crust pie
Directions
Sift together sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
Mix dry ingredients with apples.
Put apple mixture into an ungreased pan. Dot the top of the apple mixture with butter.
Preheat oven to 410° F.
Prepare pastry and roll into 10-inch square. (I used Pillsbury pie crust - but usually make my own). Place the crust over the fruit mixture in the pan.
Cut slits near the center.
Fold edges under just the inside edge of the pan (I brushed the top of the crust with egg white).
Bake 50 minutes or until juice begins to bubble through slits
Recipe Note
