Easy Summer Squash and Ground Beef Casserole with Ghosted Maple and Bbq Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef or 1 lb. Italian sausage or ½ lb. of each
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 4 medium yellow squash, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 small green pepper
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon Wood's Ghosted Pepper Maple Syrup

⅔ cup Wood's Vermont Smoked Maple BBQ Sauce

Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
Optional—
- ½ cup bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Directions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef/sausage until evenly brown. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the oil in the skillet over medium heat. Add the squash, onion, green pepper, and garlic and sauté until tender.
- Add the ground beef/sausage to the skillet. Season with ghosted pepper maple syrup, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix in the BBQ sauce.
- Turn the mixture into an ovenproof casserole dish. Top with cheddar cheese.
Optional—
Melt butter in the microwave. Mix the butter with the bread crumbs and spread over the top. Then bake.
Bake in 375° F oven for 25 minutes.
